S. Zurabishvili, the Georgian President again acted as the defender of the Abkhaz language, which is “under the threat of extinction”. Mrs. Zurabishvili is trying to assure the public that this problem is the most difficult and responsible for her. “I am responsible for protecting of the Abkhaz language as the president of Georgia and the guarantor of its constitution. Especially at a time when the Abkhaz language is included in the list of endangered languages by UNESCO,” Zurabishvili said.

We received with deep sorrow the news of the death of Taras Mironovich Shamba - an outstanding Abkhaz and Russian public and political figure, holder of the Akhdz-Apsha Order of the 1-st degree, laureate of the Dmitry Gulia State Prize, honorary lawyer of the Russian Federation, honored lawyer of Russia, President of the World Congress of Abkhaz-Abaza (Abaza) of the people (1992-2017).

Daur Kove, the Abkhaz Foreign Minister met with Toivo Klaar, the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus on October 13,2020. On October 5, in Damascus, a meeting of the delegation of the Republic of Abkhazia, led by Alkhas Kvitsinia, with the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Syrian Arab Republic Hussein Arnus took place.
