The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia expresses serious concern about the holding of another large-scale military exercise of the NATO countries "Noble Partner 2020" in Georgia. The military exercise in the Georgia-NATO format will involve several thousand military personnel using heavy military equipment, aircraft and ships of the US Navy.  

On August 19 Daur Kove, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia hosted a meeting with Garry Kupalba, the Head of the Official Representation of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic in the Republic of Abkhazia in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia

The Georgian troops invaded Abkhazia and the Georgian-Abkhaz war began on August 14, 1992, which lasted 413 days and ended with the victory of the Abkhaz people on September 30, 1993.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia sent a note of condolences to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia on the occasion of the 12-th anniversary of the start of Georgia's large-scale aggression against the Republic of South Ossetia.

The European Union Delegation to Georgia issued a joint statement "on the 12-th anniversary of the conflict between Russia and Georgia", which expresses the EU's commitment to the peaceful resolution of conflicts and strong support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

In connection with the numerous appeals of foreign citizens wishing to visit the Republic of Abkhazia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia informs interested parties that crossing the border between the Russian Federation and the Republic Abkhazia is possible only for citizens of the Republic of Abkhazia and the Russian Federation in accordance with the Order of the Government of the Russian Federation №1996-r of August 1, 2020.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia sent a note of condolences to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants of the Republic of Lebanon in connection with the numerous victims as the result of the explosion in Beirut.

The Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia informs that entry into the territory of the republic through checkpoints is carried out without any restrictions in connection with the Order of the President of the Republic of Abkhazia dated of August 1, 2020 on recognizing as invalid the Order of the President of the Republic of Abkhazia dated of June 30, 2020. As for the entrance through the «Psou» checkpoint, both citizens of Abkhazia and Russia can cross it.

Bashar al-Assad, the President of the Syrian Arab Republic met with Bagrat Khutaba, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Syrian Arab Republic at the Presidential Palace on July 28, 2020.

Daur Kove, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia sent a congratulatory note to Masis Mayilyan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh on the occasion of the 27-th anniversary of the establishment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh.

NATO countries' «Sea Breeze 2020» military exercises started in the Black Sea on July 20,2020 in which the Georgian military personnel are also taking part. In total, 27 warships, 19 aircraft and 2,000 military personnel from Ukraine, Georgia and seven NATO member countries: the United States, Bulgaria, Turkey, Romania, France, Spain and Norway are participating in naval maneuvers.

Walid al Muallem, the Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Syrian Arab Republic met with Bagrat Khutaba, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Syrian Arab Republic on July 21,2020 at the Syrian Foreign Ministry.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia received with deep sadness the news of the sudden death of an outstanding statesman and public figure Avidzba Vladimir Dzhamalovich, the Deputy of the Supreme Council of the Abkhaz ASSR, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Abkhazia in the Turkish Republic from 1994 to 2014, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia, honored journalist Abkhazia.

The video conference was held with Alba Azucena Torres Mejia, the Ambassador of the Republic of Nicaragua to the Republic of Abkhazia on the initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia on the eve of the 41-st anniversary of the Sandinista revolution in the Republic of Nicaragua on July 17,2020.

Daur Kove, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia met with Anna Popova, the Head of Rospotrebnadzor within the framework of a working visit to the Russian Federation (Moscow).

Daur Kove, the Abkhaz Foreign Minister, Igor Akhba, the Ambassador of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Russian Federation and Renat Karchaa, the Assistant to the President of the Republic of Abkhazia for Strategic Communications met with Alexey Shaposhnikov, the Chairman of the Moscow City Duma on July 16, in Moscow.

Daur Kove, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia, Igor Akhba , the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Russian Federation and Renat Karchaa, the Assistant to the President of Abkhazia for Strategic Communications discussed the development of bilateral cooperation of the Republic Abkhazia and the Russian capital with Sergei Cheryomin, the Minister of the Government of Moscow, Head of the Department of Foreign Economic and International Relations within the framework of a meeting.

Aslan Bzhaniia, the President of the Republic of Abkhazia signed the Decree on the appointment of Daur Vadimovich Kove as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia.
