On December 6, 2021 Bagrat Khutaba, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia in the Syrian Arab Republic met with Mohammad Hassan Katana, the Minister of Agriculture of the Syrian Arab Republic.

The prospects for cooperation between Abkhazia and Syria in the sphere of agriculture were discussed at the meeting. A number of priority areas of cooperation between the two countries were outlined.

The parties discussed the possibility of signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Abkhazia and the Ministry of Agriculture of Syria.
