The commemorative event dedicated to Vladislav Grigoryevich Ardzinba, the First President of the Republic of Abkhazia as well as the opening of the photo exhibition “75 Moments from the Life of the Great Son of Abkhazia” was held in the Official Representation of the Republic of Abkhazia in the PMR, today, on March 4, 2020.

Igor Smirnov, the first President of the PMR, Valery Gebos, the Minister of the State Security of the PMR, Alexandra Tumba, the Minister of Justice of the PMR, Vitaly Niagu, the Chairman of the State Customs Committee of the PMR, Oleg Kabaloev, the Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the PMR, Galina Antyufeeva, the Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council of the PMR, Sergey Gerasyutenko, the Acting Minister of Defense of the PMR, Alexander Stetsyuk, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR, Yuri Kara, the Chairman of the Council of People’s Deputies of the city of Bender ,Vladimir Ladunkin, the Director of the branch of the CIS Institute in Tiraspol, the representatives of the public and media took part in the event.

Opening the official part of the event Alexander Vataman, the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Abkhazia in the PMR, quoted the words of Nodar Chanba, the famous cultural figure of Abkhazia: “In an unbroken chain of rulers - from kings to presidents - only those personalities remain in the national memory who, at a certain stage of the historical path, became the personification of the courage and high spirit of the people. Among the Abkhazians it is Leon, Keleshbey and, of course, Vladislav Ardzinba.”

Vladislav Grigoryevich made the history of the Abkhaz-Pridnestrovian relations.

The signatures of V.G.Ardzinba and Igor Nikolayevich Smirnov are under the first basic agreement between Abkhazia and the PMR of 1993. Igor Nikolaevich had several personal meetings with Vladislav Ardzinba.

In his speech, Igor Nikolayevich Smirnov spoke on the meetings with Vladislav Grigoryevich on the impression that remained after talking with him, on the confidence that came from him, on his great love for Abkhazia for the Abkhaz people, which was felt in everything - his words and actions.

The Foreign Ministries actively participated in the development of the interstate relations of the Republic of Abkhazia and the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic continuing of the course laid down by the First Presidents of Abkhazia and Pridnestrovie. The result was the signing of the updated Treaty in 2017 by the current Presidents of the two countries.

Alexander Pavlovich Stetsyuk, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pridnestrovie noted the significance of Vladislav Grigoryevich in the recent history of Abkhazia when he became the head of the national liberation movement and the head of the construction of a modern Abkhaz state. “And he is rightfully the winner - the Winner in the Patriotic War of the People of Abkhazia and the Winner in the peaceful construction of the state in the most difficult conditions,” said Alexander Stetsyuk.

The participants of the event got acquainted with the presented photo exhibition and left entries in the Memorial Book.
