A meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs Vitaly Ignatiev and the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Abkhazia in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Alexander Vataman was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR.

Opening the meeting, Vitaly Ignatiev positively assessed the dynamics of bilateral contacts, noting the great potential for further expansion of practical Pridnestrovian-Abkhazian cooperation in various fields.

For his part, Alexander Vataman noted that the meeting took place on the eve of the 29th anniversary of the signing of the basic Treaty "On Friendship and Cooperation between the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and the Republic of Abkhazia", ​​within which the forms of cooperation and interaction between Abkhazia and Pridnestrovie were established. A certain stage of such cooperation was the opening of official representative offices. Alexander Vataman addressed the words of congratulations to the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR on the occasion of the fifteenth anniversary of the opening of the Official Representative Office of the PMR in Abkhazia.

The parties summed up the results of cooperation in 2021 and discussed the prospects for the development of bilateral relations in 2022, with an emphasis on developing inter-MFA cooperation, as well as expanding interagency cooperation within the framework of signed agreements. Attention was also paid to the expansion of contacts in the field of youth policy and the implementation of a number of joint projects in the social, humanitarian and cultural spheres.

The parties agreed to work out, in a working order, the issues of the practical content of the Pridnestrovian-Abkhazian cooperation in 2022.

At the end of the conversation, the interlocutors agreed to continue constant interaction across the entire spectrum of areas of mutual interest.
