The working meeting between Vitaly Ignatiev, the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and Alexander Vataman, the Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia in Pridnestrovie was held at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of the PMR on October 4.
The meeting was held on the initiative of the Official Representation of the Republic of Abkhazia in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
The main topic of the meeting was the results of the visit of the Pridnestrovian delegation headed by Vadim Krasnoselsky, the President of the PMR to the Republic of Abkhazia.
Vitaly Ignatyev noted the high level of the delegation's reception and expressed his gratitude for the program of the visit prepared by the Abkhaz side which allowed to cover official and festive events, hold personal meetings as well as get acquainted with the history, culture and traditions of Abkhazia.
The interlocutors noted the importance of the Abkhaz-Pridnestrovian documents signed during the visit and underlined that today there are good opportunities for implementing of a number of joint projects in the field of interdepartmental cooperation, culture, social and information spheres.
Alexander Vataman thanked the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the PMR for the high appraisal of the organization of the visit of the delegation of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic by the Abkhaz side and for its part noted that the date of September 30 - the Victory Day in the Patriotic War of the Abkhazian nation of 1992-1993 was one of the most important dates in the Republic. The participation in the festive events of the Pridnestrovian delegation once again confirmed the fraternal relations of Pridnestrovie and Abkhazia which are linked by the common history. The confirmation of the historical connection and kind human relations became the participation of the President of the PMR in the action "Immortal Regiment" with the photograph of Roman Radkovsky, the native of the Prednestrovsky city Dubossary. Roman, the participant of the Patriotic War of the nation of Abkhazia of 1992-1993 died on April 17, 1993 in the district of Gudauta near the village of Shroma.
Vitaly Ignatiev and Alexander Vataman discussed in details the opportunities for practical implementation of bilateral cooperation in the wide range of areas, highlighting priority ones for the near future. Among them there is the exchange of experience of representatives of various ministries and departments, the cooperation of the parliaments of the Republics, the interaction of state universities and the prosthesis of disabled persons of Pridnestrovie in Abkhazia.
At the end of the meeting the sides confirmed their readiness to develop practical cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR and the Official Representation of the Republic of Abkhazia in the PMR to implement the plans.
