On December 6, elections to the National Assembly were held in Venezuela. According to preliminary data from the National Electoral Council of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, the "Great Patriotic Pole", led by the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSPV), won, gaining a majority of seats in parliament. The results of the vote, which took place in accordance with the national legislation of Venezuela, were recognized by the head of state, Nicolas Maduro.

We welcome the holding of peaceful and open elections in Venezuela, the outcome of which reflects the free expression of the will of the Venezuelans. The Venezuelan electoral system has once again demonstrated its commitment to electoral transparency and democratic principles.

The past elections once again confirmed the victory of the Bolivarian Revolution and testify to the support of the Venezuelans for the course outlined by the Great Patriotic Pole to continue the cause of Hugo Chavez.
