The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia sent a congratulatory note to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in connection with the Defender of the Fatherland Day.

It is stated:

“This holiday embodies honor and valor, the memory of military victories, which is passed down from generation to generation.

Today, these eternal values have a special meaning. We address special words of gratitude to those who celebrate this holiday far from home, faithfully serving their Fatherland. Today, Russian servicemen, together with volunteers from the Republic of Abkhazia, are defending the world from neo-Nazism, showing heroism, risking their lives.

We will always remember the immortal feat of our relatives and friends during the Great Patriotic War. Courage and bravery shown on every day of the terrible war is an example of a great feat of arms for the younger generation.

Defender of the Fatherland Day unites everyone who is firmly loyal to the Motherland, defending it in military service, strengthening it with their daily work.
