The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia sent a congratulatory note to the Russian Foreign Ministry in connection with the Defender of the Fatherland Day.
The note says, in particular:
"February 23 is truly a national holiday. It embodies the inextricable link between generations, unites in understanding the importance of strengthening the armed forces and appreciation of military labor. On this day are honored all those who with honor and dignity protect the national security of Russia, for whom devotion to duty and selfless service to the Fatherland became the main life values.
Today, soldiers of the Armed Forces inherit with dignity the glorious tradition of defenders of the Motherland, performing tasks in the course of counter-terrorist operations and peacekeeping missions, demonstrating the resilience and endurance in combat situation, with honor serve to protect the country and its national interests.
On this festive day, we wish health optimism, peace, happiness and prosperity to our Russian colleagues!"
