The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia sent a congratulatory note to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Compatriots Abroad of the Syrian Arab Republic on Independence Day.

It is noted, in particular:

"April 17, 1946, as a result of the Syrian people's selfless struggle for their freedom and sovereignty, went down in the history of the people of the Syrian Arab Republic as the day that marked the departure of the last soldier of colonial France.

Today, on the 76th anniversary of the Independence of the Syrian Arab Republic, the Syrian people remain steadfast in their determination to defend their homeland from external enemies and the threats of international terrorism.
