The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia sent a congratulatory note to the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia in connection with the 28-th anniversary of the
Independence Day.

" The most important date in the history of South Ossetia is September 20, 1990 28 years ago the Council
of People's Deputies of the South Ossetian Autonomous Region adopted the Declaration on the State
Sovereignty of the South Ossetian Soviet Democratic Republic. This event was the first step towards the
independence and international recognition.
Today, the Republic of South Ossetia is a rapidly developing, democratic state based on the principles of
the rule of law. Over the past 28 years, your country has achieved the highest successes in state building,
development of the social sphere, the economy of the country and expansion of international relations.
We are convinced that the trusting relations established between our fraternal republics will continue to
be strengthened in the future, covering all new areas of activity "
