The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia received with deep sadness the news of the sudden death of an outstanding statesman and public figure Avidzba Vladimir Dzhamalovich, the Deputy of the Supreme Council of the Abkhaz ASSR, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Abkhazia in the Turkish Republic from 1994 to 2014, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia, honored journalist Abkhazia.

Vladimir Dzhamalovich is one of those who stood at the origins of the creation of the Plenipotentiary Representation of the Republic of Abkhazia in the Turkish Republic. He made a huge contribution to strengthening of interaction with the Abkhaz diaspora, developing contacts with the Turkish leadership.

He was a man who understood all the subtleties of the diplomatic service, firmly defending the interests of the Republic, its authority and the right to self-determination in the international arena.

Vladimir Avidzba made an invaluable contribution to the development of the Abkhaz diplomatic school being a true patriot of his homeland and possessing high intelligence, wisdom as well as an energy.

For special services to the Fatherland he was awarded the orders "Akhdz-Apsha" III degree and "Badge of Honor", medals of the USSR.

The name of Vladimir Dzhamalovich is forever inscribed in the history of diplomacy of the Republic of Abkhazia as an example of selfless service to the Motherland.

The leadership and staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at this mournful hour share the bitterness of the irreplaceable loss of a worthy son of the Abkhaz people and grieve along with the family and friends of Vladimir Dzhamalovich Avidzba.
