We received with deep sorrow the news of the death of Taras Mironovich Shamba - an outstanding Abkhaz and Russian public and political figure, holder of the Akhdz-Apsha Order of the 1-st degree, laureate of the Dmitry Gulia State Prize, honorary lawyer of the Russian Federation, honored lawyer of Russia, President of the World Congress of Abkhaz-Abaza (Abaza) of the people (1992-2017).

Taras Mironovich made an invaluable contribution to strengthening the Abkhaz statehood. Taras Mironovich was an example of true patriotism dedicating his life to defending the interests of the Motherland.

He earned respect both in the Republic of Abkhazia and abroad with his deepest knowledge, highest professionalism, human qualities.

The death of Taras Mironovich is a great loss for the Abkhaz people.

The leadership and staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at this difficult hour share the pain of irreparable loss and grieve along with the family and friends of Taras Mironovich Shamba.
