On July 15, 2021 Daur Kove, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia left on a working visit to the Republic of Nicaragua.

During the working visit, it is scheduled to hold a number of meetings with the country's leadership, during which he will discuss issues of bilateral Abkhaz-Nicaraguan cooperation.

Daur Kove, the Foreign Minister of Abkhazia will also take part in the celebrations marking the 42-nd anniversary of the Sandinista revolution.

On September 3, 2008, the Republic of Nicaragua recognized the independence of the Republic of Abkhazia and on September 10, 2009 Abkhazia established diplomatic relations with Nicaragua.
