The XIX-th World Festival of Youth and Students will be held from October 14 to 22 in Sochi. It will be attended by 20,000 young professionals in various fields from 150 countries aged 18 to 35 years.
The delegation of the Republic of Abkhazia also includes the members of the Council of Young Diplomats of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia: Inar Ladaria, Victoria Malania, Temur Rekvava, Milana Abshilava, Astamur Bagatelia, Kvadzba Said and Madina Shamba.
On the margins of the World Festival of Youth and Students in Sochi will host the I-st Global Forum of Young Diplomats in which young people from 70 countries of the world will take part including the Republic of Abkhazia.
The main topics of the meeting will be: the role of youth diplomacy in contemporary international relations, information security and ecology.
During the forum, in addition to the meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, discussions are also planned with the participation of prominent experts: Maria Zakharova, the Director of the Information and Press Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Leonid Slutsky, the Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, Konstantin Kosachev, the Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs, Andrei Krutsky, the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation on International Cooperation in the Information Security and others.
Within the framework of the event it is planned to sign a declaration on the establishment of the International Association of Young Diplomats.
The Council of Young Diplomats of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia was established in 2014. The agreement on cooperation between the Council of Young Diplomats at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia and the Council of Young Diplomats of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation was signed in 2015.
Traditionally, the Council includes young employees of the Abkhaz Foreign Ministry and students of the Abkhaz State University (ASU) of the department of "International Relations".
