Currently, the theft of funds from the famous Soviet and Russian actor Vladimir Etush actively figured in the media. D. Bargandzhiya was arrested on the suspicion of committing of this crime.
There may be no doubt that the final and fair decision on this criminal case should be made by the court and the perpetrators of the crime will be punished properly.
At the same time we paid attention to the nature of the information support of this criminal case by some mass media which instead of objectively highlighting of the events that are taking place make an informed emphasis on certain facts concerning the biography of the suspect in particular on his belonging to the Republic of Abkhazia and his past positions.
Considering the fact that Bargandzhiya D.A. is a citizen of the Republic of Abkhazia we consider it is necessary to inform about some aspects of his work biography.
Being an active participant in the national liberation movement of the Abkhazian people, Daur Andreyevich Bargandzhiya was a Deputy of the Supreme Council of the Parliament of the Republic of Abkhazia in a difficult time in the period from 1991-1996. He was the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Abkhazia from 1996 to 1998, and then he was the Head of the National Bank of Abkhazia. In 1999, Daur Bargandzhiya continues his work in various financial institutions of the Russian Federation.
To our great regret we are forced to state that the form of information provided by some media regarding this criminal case makes an impression of a purposeful information policy aimed at discrediting the image of the Republic of Abkhazia and its citizens.
In view of the foregoing we would like once again to call upon the representatives of the media to abandon the practice of artificially injecting of the situation and to maintain impartiality in covering this criminal case.
