The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia sent a congratulatory note to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia on the occasion of the celebration of the Day of the adoption of the Act on State Independence of the Republic of South Ossetia

In particular, it is noted:

“May 29, 1992 became forever in the history of the South Ossetian people as one of the most important days in the establishment and strengthening of the South Ossetian statehood.
The act of state independence became the foundation for the democratic and free development of the Republic.

The people of South Ossetia were prepared to go through many trials and defend their historic right to live in a free state.

The proclamation of independence by the Supreme Soviet was the only right decision for the preservation of the South Ossetian people.

The fraternal relations with South Ossetia are highly valued in the Republic of Abkhazia. We are convinced of the need to expand our cooperation between states.”
