The Official Representation of the Republic of South Ossetia in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic held a mourning event on June 20, the day of the nationwide mourning of the Republic of South Ossetia in the memory of the victims of the 1920 genocide.

The event was attended by Alexander Vataman, the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Abkhazia in the PMR at the invitation of Vitaly Yankovsky, the Head of the Official Representation of the Republic of South Ossetia in the PMR.The event was attended by Alexander Korshunov, the Chairman of the PMR Supreme Council, Stanislav Kasap, the Deputy Prime Minister of the PMR, Vitaly Ignatiev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR, Valery Gebos, the Minister of State Security of the PMR.

The memorial services are held in churches today; flowers are laid at the memorial obelisks as well as a national minute of silence took place in South Ossetia.

Pridnestrovie also joined the mourning events - a rally-requiem was held, the national flag of the Republic of South Ossetia was at half-mast today. The memory books opened by the Official Representation of the Republic of South Ossetia in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic contain notes by the Heads of the Pridnestrovian State Departments.

Alexander Vataman, the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Abkhazia in the PMR left a note in the Memory Book.

“The bloody crimes of Georgia against the people of South Ossetia committed in 1920 should not and cannot be forgotten and there can be no forgiveness to anyone who committed them or stood behind them.

The Official Representation of the Republic of Abkhazia in the PMR shares this mournful date with South Ossetia recalling the citizens of this country who died at the hands of the Georgian punishers.
