The Foreign Ministry of Abkhazia hosted a meeting on July 11 between Daur Kove, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia and Niels Scott, the Permanent Coordinator of the United Nations Development Program. The meeting was also attended by Irakli Tuzhba, the Deputy Foreign Minister , Arthur Gaguliya, the Head of the Department for Cooperation with International Organizations, Munhtuya Altangerel, the  Deputy Permanent Representative of UNDP in Abkhazia, Frederic Dispenza, Special Project Manager of the "ENPARD" - joint program of the EU and UNDP for the development of rural areas, Ann-Sophie Hellgren, the Assistant UN Resident Coordinator as well as Madina Sulava, a program specialist for the UNDP office in Abkhazia

The issues related to the activities of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in the territory of the Republic of Abkhazia were discussed during the meeting.

Niels Scott briefed the Foreign Minister on current projects being implemented by UNDP in Abkhazia as well as on the work plans for the program for 2019.

The Minister noted the importance of coordinating the activities of the UN specialized agencies with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia.

A number of other issues of common interest were also discussed.
