Daur Kove, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia met with Ardzun Shresth, the head of the UNHCR office in Abkhazia and Blerim Muhaksheri, the head of the Danish Refugee Council in Abkhazia. 

The meeting was also attended by Amiran Kakalia, the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Abkhazia, Givi Dopua, the head of the Administration of the Ochamchira region and Aida Chachkhalia, the head of the Administration of the Tkuarchalsky district.

In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Abkhazia “On some measures for the implementation of programs (projects) of foreign non-governmental and international organizations in the territory of the Republic of Abkhazia”, the working meeting was aimed at agreeing on a new UNHCR project “Strengthening the livelihood opportunities and improving the resilience of communities in the southeast Abkhazia, on the basis of a sustainable, innovative and effective partnership ”, implemented by the Danish Refugee Council.

After the presentation of the project, there was an exchange of views on the feasibility of its implementation in the republic. The project was unanimously adopted and recommended for implementation in Ochamchira and Tkuarchal districts.

During the meeting, the importance of coordinating the actions of international organizations with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia was noted.
