The 20-th anniversary of Victory and Independence Day celebrates on September 30 in the Republic of Abkhazia.
The leadership and staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia took part in the ceremony of laying wreaths at the Memorial of Glory in the city of Sukhum as well as at the grave of Vladislav Ardzinba, the First President of the Republic of Abkhazia in the village of Eschera.
The Patriotic War of the people of Abkhazia 1992-1993, which lasted 413 days, ended with a victory over the Georgian aggressor. The entire territory of Abkhazia was liberated from the Georgian troops on September 30, 1993.
