On April 4, 2023, an online meeting was held between Inal Ardzinba, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia, and Denis Moncada Colindres, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Nicaragua.
The meeting was also attended by Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Nicaragua for Investments, Commerce and International Cooperation Laureano Ortega, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Republic of Nicaragua Inar Ladaria.
During the meeting, a thorough exchange of views on current issues on the bilateral agenda took place.
The ministers noted the consistent strengthening of the Abkhaz-Nicaraguan relations, built in the spirit of strategic partnership, based on mutual trust and respect.
The parties expressed mutual interest in further developing the political dialogue and building up multifaceted ties in the trade and economic sphere and creating a trading house.
In addition, the parties stressed the importance of strengthening ties between the young leaders of the two countries.
During the meeting, Inal Ardzinba conveyed greetings from Aslan Bzhania, the President of the Republic of Abkhazia to Daniel Ortega, the President of the Republic of Nicaragua and invited Denis Moncada, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Nicaragua to visit Abkhazia to participate in the Global Abkhazia forum, scheduled for May 17, 2023 and timed to coincide with 30-th anniversary of the establishment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia.
In turn, Denis Moncada, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Nicaragua conveyed the greetings of Daniel Ortega, the President of the Republic of Nicaragua to the leadership of the Republic of Abkhazia.
Denis Moncada highly appreciated the level of bilateral cooperation and expressed interest in the further development of multifaceted cooperation.
In addition, the Foreign Minister of Nicaragua accepted the invitation of Inal Ardzinba to pay a visit to the Republic of Abkhazia. The meeting was held in a traditionally friendly and constructive atmosphere.
