The delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia was met by Bako Sahakyan, the President of the Republic of Artsakh on 28th of August.
Opening the meeting Bako Sahakyan stressed that the relations between our countries were of the special nature and had the long tradition. The President of the Republic of Artsakh also expressed confidence that the current visit of the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia would give an additional impetus to bilateral relations.
As noted, both republics have all the prerequisites for successfully developing interstate interaction and filling it with practical content. In particular the need was expressed to develop mutual relations in the field of economy and social sphere as well as coordination of political and diplomatic cooperation.
In addition the President Bako Sahakyan proposed to develop cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian sphere which will help to strengthen not only interstate relations but also help to establish contacts between ordinary people. It was proposed to study in detail the possibilities of the two countries at the level of specialists of relevant ministries and departments.
In his turn, Daur Kove noted that during today's meetings with the leadership of the Republic of Artsakh the possibility of cooperation in the social, economic and humanitarian spheres was discussed. Taking into account the serious achievements of the Republic of Artsakh in the field of development of the country's energy system, Daur Kove expressed the Abkhaz side's interest in studying the experience in this area which is of particular relevance for the Republic of Abkhazia.
Following the results of the meeting, Daur Kove thanked the President of the Republic of Artsakh for the warm welcome he received stressing the importance of the signed Memorandum of Understanding between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries as well as noting the high productivity of the meetings held with the leadership of the Republic of Artsakh during the visit.
