Sergey Shamba, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia, congratulated Eduard Kokoity, the second President of the Republic of South Ossetia, on his 60th birthday.

In particular, it is noted:

"You are an example of a courageous, steadfast and valiant patriot of your country and people, who stood at the origins of its struggle for its independence and sovereignty. During your bright political career, you had to face the most difficult trials, in particular, the criminal military aggression from Georgia, to which the Republic of South Ossetia headed by you was subjected.

Largely thanks to your efforts, after repelling the Georgian aggression, you, side by side with the leaders of the Republic of Abkhazia, defended the right to independence and sovereignty of your country in the international arena, which ultimately led to the recognition of the independence of the Republic of South Ossetia by the Russian Federation. I remember with warmth the years of our joint work for the benefit of our states."

Sergey Shamba wished Eduard Kokoity peace, goodness and family well-being.
