Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia Daur Kove congratulated Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Dmitry Medoev on the 27th anniversary of the establishment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia.

Speaking in Tbilisi on the occasion of Georgia’s national holiday - Independence Day, Salome Zurabishvili, the Georgian President expressed regret that the Abkhaz language “is on the verge of extinction, despite the care of the Georgian state. According to Zurabishvili, this is due to the fact that Russia "pursues a policy of Russification towards the Abkhaz people, the Abkhaz culture and language."

Today’s event is a continuation of a joint project of two fraternal states for the production of postage stamps, which was made possible thanks to the interaction and fruitful work of the State Unitary Enterprise “Mark of Transdniestria” and the State Administration of Communications and Mass Communications of the Republic of Abkhazia.

On May 17, a meeting of Alexander Vataman, the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Abkhazia in the Transdniestrian Republic was held with Vitaly Ignatiev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR in the Official Representation of the Republic of Abkhazia in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. On May 17, Foreign Minister Daur Kove held a working meeting with Oleg Botsiev, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Ossetia in the Republic of Abkhazia and Garry Kupalba, the Head of the Official Representative Office of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic in the Republic of Abkhazia.

The adoption of a Decree on the formation of the Chief Foreign Office on May 17, 1993 by the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Abkhazia was an important stage in the defense of national interests.
