On April 24, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia Kan Taniya held a meeting with MSc of Leiden University(Holland) Ramesh Ganohariti. Ramesh Ganohariti was interested in the practice of applying dual citizenship in the Republic of Abkhazia, and in particular, how the law on dual citizenship is implemented at the practical and legislative level, how the rights of the citizens of the Republic of Abkhazia abroad are protected, and what disadvantages exist in the issue of dual citizenship. The topic of the thesis of Ramesh Ganohariti is: "Politics and the law of dual citizenship in partially recognized states".

On April 19, 2017, the Committee of the Deputy Ministers of the Council of Europe considered the 15th consolidated report on the "conflict in Georgia" prepared by the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Thorbjørn Jagland, in which serious human rights violations are noted in Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

On April 10, in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia was held a meeting of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia Kan Tania with the head of the "Action Against Hunger" (ACH) office in Abkhazia, Ervin Blau, coordinator of the ACH projects Ricardo Montanari and Professor of Turin University Luciana Tavella.
