Due to the increasing misinterpretation of information in social media regarding the meeting held between the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defense, we hereby inform of the following.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs draws the attention of citizens to the fact that the issue discussed at the aforementioned meeting concerned the recurring attempts to register citizens of the Republic of Abkhazia, who also hold Russian citizenship, for military service in the Russian Federation. The purpose of this meeting was to find solutions to this issue, namely, the establishment of legal mechanisms under which citizens of the Republic of Abkhazia will not be required to register for military service in the Russian Federation, as they are part of the mobilization reserve of the Republic of Abkhazia and must be registered for military service in the Republic of Abkhazia.

We ask our esteemed citizens not to distort the official information of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
