As part of the working visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia Oleg Bartsits to the Syrian Arab Republic, a number of meetings were held with representatives of the Abkhaz-Adyg and Circassian Diasporal associations in Syria. Meetings were attended by the leaders of the Diaspora: Chairman of the Adyghe Hase Hasan Shora, Chairman of the Circassian Charitable Association "Solidarity" Mr. Abdul Rahman Bagas and Chairman of the Abkhazian-Circassian Diaspora in the region Kisua-Fahmi Abaza. Representatives of the Diaspora warmly welcomed the delegation of the Republic of Abkhazia, headed by Foreign Minister Oleg Bartsits.

During meetings held in different regions, key issues were discussed regarding the support of the Diaspora and strengthening its connections with the historical homeland. Those present at the events were interested in how the Minister's visit to Syria is going. Oleg Bartsits told about the meeting with his Syrian counterpart, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Asaad Hasan Al-Shaibani, during which various issues of both political and trade and economic character were discussed. During the meeting, the Syrian Foreign Minister announced the commitment of the new leadership of the republic to the further development and strengthening of relations with the Republic of Abkhazia.

At the meetings held, the head of the Foreign Ministry of Abkhazia promised to take additional measures to ensure that the representatives of the Abkhaz-Adyg and Circassian Diaspora living in Syria would have the opportunity to visit their historical homeland. The Minister stressed that in Abkhazia, with the support of the government, programs are being implemented that allow representatives of the Abkhaz-Adyg and Circassian Diaspora to receive higher education.

Oleg Bartsits conveyed greetings and best wishes from the President of the Republic of Abkhazia Badra Gunba to the representatives of the Diaspora.

It was noted that the leadership of the Republic of Abkhazia pays special attention to its compatriots living abroad and will continue to provide them with maximum support.
