Oleg Bartsit, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia congratulated Sergey Lavrov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and the staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the 80-th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
It is noted in particular:
“Victory Day is a sacred holiday, a symbol of unity, heroism and unwavering strength of spirit of the peoples of the Soviet Union. The memory of the feat of the Soviet soldier who crushed the criminal aggression of Nazi Germany remains an eternal landmark of courage and self-sacrifice.
Today we bow our heads before the war veterans and honor the memory of those who died for the Great Victory. Their fortitude, devotion to the Motherland and faith in the triumph of justice became an unshakable foundation of peace for future generations.
The modern era once again demands from us determination in the fight against the resurgent threats of neo-Nazism, xenophobia and attempts to rewrite history. 80 years after the Victory over Nazism, the successor of the Soviet Union, the Russian Federation, once again found itself at the forefront of the battle for truth, independence and the preservation of traditional values and its own identity. The Republic of Abkhazia, faithful to the centuries-old bonds of brotherhood, fully supports its strategic ally."
