On April 22, 2025, President of the Republic of Abkhazia Badra Gunba introduced the new Minister of Foreign Affairs Oleg Bartsyts to the staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia.

Badra Gunba thanked the staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their well-coordinated work aimed at implementing the main challenges facing the state today, including further international recognition of the Republic of Abkhazia, interaction with the main strategic ally - the Russian Federation.

The President expressed confidence that the experience and skills inherent in the new Minister of Foreign Affairs Oleg Bartsyts will be applied in his new status. Badra Gunba also thanked Sergei Shamba, who previously served as Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia.

In turn, Foreign Minister Oleg Bartsyts thanked President Badra Gunba for the trust and expressed confidence that the staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia will continue to effectively carry out the objectives set by the country’s political leadership.
