On June 21, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia, Inal Ardzinba, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Syrian Arab Republic, Faisal Mekdad had a telephone conversation.

During the conversation, the parties discussed topical issues of Abkhazian-Syrian relations, as well as prospects for further development of interstate cooperation. 

Inal Ardzinba invited Faisal Mekdad to pay a visit to the Republic of Abkhazia. The visit is planned for the current year. The Ministers will sign a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Syrian Arab Republic.
