Zaur Gvadzhava, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia made a reception on the occasion of the 25-th anniversary of Victory Day, the 10-th anniversary of the recognition of Abkhazia by the Russian Federation and the day of the armed forces of the Republic of Abkhazia on October 18, 2018.
Reception was held at the hotel Gran Melia Caracas.
The conference entitled “The Severity of History — Regional Conflicts and Legality in Eastern Europe” was held in Berlin, organized by the Center for Eastern European and International Studies, Herder Institute and Leibniz Institute on October 17,2018.
More than ten people were killed, many persons were injured in the result of the explosion at the Polytechnic College of the city of Kerch (Republic of Crimea, Russian Federation) on October 17,2018.

On October 12, 1999, the People’s Assembly - the Parliament of the Republic of Abkhazia adopted the State Independence Act following a nationwide referendum which was held on October 3, 1999, at which 97.7% of the population voted for the Constitution of the Republic of Abkhazia adopted on November 26, 1994.
The 45-th Round of the International Geneva Discussions on Security and Stability in the Caucasus were held on October 9-10, 2018.The Discussion was attended by the representatives of the Republic of Abkhazia, the Republic of South Ossetia, Georgia, the Russian Federation and the United States co-chaired by the UN, OSCE and the EU.

The 20-th anniversary of Victory and Independence Day celebrates on September 30 in the Republic of Abkhazia.
The leadership and staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia took part in the ceremony of laying wreaths at the Memorial of Glory in the city of Sukhum as well as at the grave of Vladislav Ardzinba, the First President of the Republic of Abkhazia in the village of Eschera.
On the eve of the holiday, on a big screen in the center of Tiraspol, a video in connection with the events in Abkhazia 25 years ago and Victory Day of the People of Abkhazia in the Patriotic War in 1992-1993 is broadcast in a repeating mode.
M. Bakhtadze, speaking at the 73-rd session of the UN General Assembly, Georgian Prime Minister
addressed to the “residents of Abkhazia and South Ossetia,” saying that the future of Georgia is with the
republics. “We see our future only with you. You should be able to use all the benefits that Georgian
citizens have,” said M. Bakhtadze.
