The elections of the President of the Republic were held in Abkhazia on March 22, 2020. The elections were held at a high organizational level in accordance with the requirements of the national legislation, were peaceful and transparent as well as there were no facts of violation of citizens ’voting rights according to the international observers.
Daur Kove, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia congratulated Sergey Lavrov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation on the occasion of his 70-th birthday.
Daur Kove expressed concern on the current situation in the world related to the spread of coronavirus infection and also expressed hope for an early resolution of the problem.

In connection with the increase of the number of patients with coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in a number of countries, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia urges citizens of the Republic to refrain from visiting countries in which cases of infection have been recorded.
