The delegation was met by Muhammad Ali, the Ambassador of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Syrian Arab Republic, and staff of the Embassy of the Republic of Abkhazia in the Syrian Arab Republic at the Damascus airport.

The delegation, led by Oleg Bartsits, Foreign Minister, included Daur Kove, the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Abkhazia,; Said Gubaz, the Minister of Finance; Irakli Tuzhba, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; Ibrahim Avidzba, the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Republic of Turkey; Dmitry Amichba, the Assistant to the Minister of Foreign Affairs,; Alisa Barzania, the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and Lana Amichba, the Assistant to the Minister of Culture.

During the visit, the delegation of the Republic of Abkhazia will participate in the 63-rd Damascus International Fair and meet with the heads of relevant agencies of the Syrian Arab Republic, as well as representatives of the Abkhaz-Adyghe diaspora.

During the visit, it is planned to discuss issues of developing bilateral relations and expanding of cooperation between the Republic of Abkhazia and the Syrian Arab Republic in areas of mutual interest.
