On June 8, 2023, in Caracas, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Zaur Gvadzhava, at the invitation of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Venezuela Sergey Melik-Bagdasarov, took part in a solemn event dedicated to the Day of Russia.

The evening was opened by the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Sergey Melik-Bagdasarov, who made a welcoming speech, after which the floor was given to Vice President for Science, Technology, Education and Health Gabriela Jimenez-Ramirez, who congratulated those present on the Day of Russia.

The event was also attended by Venezuelan Foreign Minister Ivan Gil Pinto, Ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Venezuela, representatives of the Ministry of People's Power for Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
