On September 10, 2026, a meeting took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Nicaragua between Alyas Ayba, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Republic of Nicaragua, and Naur Khishba, Minister-Counsellor of the Embassy, with Ivan Lara, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Nicaragua.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on current issues regarding bilateral relations and discussed prospects for the further development of Abkhaz-Nicaraguan cooperation.

Alyas Ayba presented Ivan Lara with a congratulatory note from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia on the occasion of the 17-th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Abkhazia and the Republic of Nicaragua.
