The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia sent a note of condolences to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran in connection with the crash of Iran Aseman Airlines plane in the Isfahan province.

The meeting between Daur Kove, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia , Toivo Claar, the EU Special Representatives for the South Caucasus, Bjorn Cuiene, the political adviser of the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus as well as and other employees of the office of the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus was held in the Foreign Ministry of Abkhazia on February 16,2018.

The meeting of the representatives of the authorities of the Rostov region with the heads of the diplomatic missions accredited in the Rostov region was held in Rostov-on-Don. Adik Arshba, the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Abkhazia in Rostov-on-Don took part in the meeting at the invitation of the authorities of the region.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia received with deep sorrow the news about the crash of the AN-148 aircraft of the Saratov Airlines which killed 71 people including 6 crew members near the village of Stepanovskoe in the Moscow region. This terrible tragedy was the sharp pain in the hearts of the inhabitants of Abkhazia.

On February 8, 2018, Oleg Arshba and Kan Taniya, the Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia took part in the opening of the ceremony of the Memorial Plaque in the honor of Dmitry Vishernev, the First Secretary, the Vice-Consul of the Russian Embassy in Abkhazia and his wife Olga Visherneva who were killed on September 9, 2013. The opening ceremony took place at the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Abkhazia.

The meeting of Kan Taniya, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia with Shombi Sharp, the Deputy Head of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in the South Caucasus was held at the Abkhazian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on February 7, 2018.
