The conference entitled “The Severity of History — Regional Conflicts and Legality in Eastern Europe” was held in Berlin, organized by the Center for Eastern European and International Studies, Herder Institute and Leibniz Institute on October 17,2018.
The themes of the reports and subsequent podium discussions were the countries of Eastern European and post-Soviet space. The report of the representative of the Institute Leibniz Sebastian Relitz concerned territorial conflicts, namely Abkhazia.
The conference was attended by Khibla Amichba the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia in Germany. She made clarifications on the topic of Abkhazia: on the history of the formation of Abkhazian statehood, outlined the problems of international isolation of the Republic and gave information on the difficulties encountered by the parties to the Geneva discussions.
