On June 22, a commemorative event commemorating the 85th anniversary of Nazi Germany's attack on the Soviet Union was held in Berlin.

The event was organized by the Left Party (Die Linke) faction in the German Bundestag. It was held in the Bundestag building under the "85 years since Germany's attack on the Soviet Union – NO TO WAR!" slogan.

The event was attended by Bundestag members, representatives of public organizations, cultural figures, veterans, and witnesses to the tragic events of World War II. Khibla Amichba, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Federal Republic of Germany, also took part in the commemorative meeting.

During the meeting, participants honored the memory of the millions of war victims, noted the historical significance of the events of June 22, 1941, and emphasized the need to preserve the memory of the tragic consequences of Nazism and the war. Calls were made to strengthen peace and prevent the recurrence of such tragedies in the future.

The program included speeches by German public and political figures, readings of historical documents and letters from the war years, and a performance of anti-war songs by the Ernst Busch Choir.

The event participants particularly emphasized the importance of preserving historical memory and the responsibility of the current generation to maintain peace.
