A delegation from the Republic of Abkhazia is in the Republic of Turkey on a working visit. It includes members of the People's Assembly-Parliament: Rashida Aiba, Dmitry Marshania, Demur Gogia, Narsou Salakaya, and Astamur Dzhopua; Bagrat Bojgua, Chairman of the State Repatriation Committee; Jansukh Lazba, Deputy Chairman; Vadim Kharazia, Advisor to the Chairman; Aslan Sangulia, Head of the Organizational and Legal Department; and Inal Khutaba, Head of the Department for Relations with Compatriots.

On May 7, a meeting was held in Istanbul between Yauza Atryshba, the President of the Federation of Abkhaz Cultural Centers in Turkey; Ibrahim Avidzba, the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Abkhazia to Turkey and the Abkhaz delegation.

Welcoming the participants, Yauz Atryshba emphasized that the Abkhaz diaspora in Turkey is strong and actively seeks to return to their historical homeland, noting the need for joint efforts to address this issue. The Federation currently unites 21 cultural centers.

Bagrat Bodzhgua, Chairman of the State Repatriation Committee discussed in detail the challenges associated with the repatriation process, emphasizing that despite the results achieved, much work and projects remain. He noted that the main goal set by Vladislav Ardzinba, the First President of the Republic of Abkhazia is to create a bright future for our compatriots and emphasized that our country and people are always concerned about the return of our compatriots to Abkhazia. This work will continue, and Badra Gunba, President of the Republic of Abkhazia will pay constant attention to it.

During the meeting, Ibrahim Avidzba, Plenipotentiary Representative of Abkhazia to Turkey spoke about the current work of the Representative Office and its interaction with the diaspora. Ibrahim Avidzba noted the importance of accelerating the passport process for representatives of the Abkhaz diaspora in Turkey and developing of relations in culture and sports. He also spoke of the need to strengthen contacts between young people from Abkhazia and the diaspora, including through organizing of cultural events between them.

The deputies emphasized the importance of preserving the national identity and traditions of our compatriots abroad, as well as the need for joint efforts to address social adaptation issues. They expressed confidence that all difficulties can be overcome, and that preparing the younger generation to maintain ties with their homeland will be a significant achievement.

At the end of the meeting, the Federation representatives announced plans to soon submit proposals on repatriation issues to the State Committee for Repatriation.

It was also announced that the issues raised will be forwarded to President Badre Gunba for further consideration and implementation.
