On April 14-15, Moscow hosted an International Scientific and Practical Conference on Electoral Process Observation and Analysis, organized by the Center for International Interaction and Cooperation with the support of the Presidential Grants Fund and the Public Council under Rossotrudnichestvo.
Kan Tania, Minister-Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Abkhazia in the Russian Federation also participated in the conference.
Sergey Lavrov, the Russian Foreign Minister delivered a welcoming video address during the conference.
Following the conference, a draft resolution was approved and the Association of Political and Electoral Analysis was established. Vito Grittani, Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia and founder of the International Diplomatic Observatory was elected President of the Association.
The key goal of the Association is to promote the sustainable development of democratic institutions in the emerging multipolar world through the development and application of objective election observation standards.
The conference brought together more than 150 experts from 60 countries across all macro regions of the world, including Russia.
