The first issue of the scientific journal "Petersburg Almanac of Caucasian Studies" was published. The almanac includes an article, "The Abkhaz Language and its place in the Caucasian Language Family," by Khibla Amichba, PhD in Philology and Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Federal Republic of Germany. The article explores the role of the Abkhaz language in the context of the Caucasian language family, as well as current issues in its study and preservation.
The publication of this new edition was made possible by Editor-in-Chief Irina Dameniia and the editorial board. It represents the realization of a significant scholarly project that makes a significant contribution to the development of Caucasian studies and the expansion of scholarly dialogue.
The publication is dedicated to current research on the history, languages, culture, and contemporary processes in the Caucasus.
