Today, in the State Administration of the city of Tiraspol, young Tiraspol citizens were honored - the finalists of the children's international drawing contest “Abkhazia, South Ossetia and Transdniestria: friendship, sealed by time”.
The competition was dedicated to the 10-th anniversary of the Georgian aggression against South Ossetia (August 8, 2008), the recognition of Abkhazia and South Ossetia by the Russian Federation (August 26, 2008) and the 25-th anniversary of the victory of the people of Abkhazia in the 1992-1993 war (September 30, 1993). The competition started on May 14, 2018.
The representatives of Abkhazia and South Ossetia in Transdniestria became the founders of the international drawing competition.
The results were summed up and an exhibition of drawings of the contest finalists was opened on August 26,2018.
In their creative works, the children could depict on paper the importance of friendship between fraternal peoples, how invaluable mutual support is in the struggle for freedom and recognition and also show how interesting and rich are the history, culture and traditions of Transdniestria, Ossetians and Abkhazians.
Alexander Vataman, the Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia in Transdniestria and Vitaly Yankovsky, head of the official representative office of the Republic of South Ossetia in Transdniestria, expressed great gratitude to the participants and their parents for their participation and congratulated them on the upcoming holidays.
The event was also attended by Maria Pashchenko, the deputy mayor for social development. “The ability to be friends is one of the most valuable qualities in people. The fact that you understand the value of friendship from childhood and depicted it between our fraternal peoples is very important,” Maria Pashchenko addressed the winners.
20 children received sweet prizes and calendars for 2019. On the pages of the calendars their work was posted.
