Zaur Gvadzhava, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela participated in a ceremony commemorating the 131-st anniversary of the birth of Augusto S. Sandino, General of Free Men and Women at the invitation of the Embassy of the Republic of Nicaragua in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. 

The ceremony was presided over by Daysi Yvette Torres Bosques, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Nicaragua. Mauricio Rodriguez, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela for Latin American Affairs participated in the event on behalf of the Bolivarian Government, reaffirming the historical bonds of brotherhood, solidarity, and strategic cooperation that bind the two countries.

During the ceremony, which took place in the square-park named after the General Augusto S. Sandino Memorial in the Mariperes neighborhood of the capital, representatives of the diplomatic corps laid flowers at the bust of the Nicaraguan national hero.

The event was attended by members of the diplomatic corps accredited in the country, representatives of social movements, youth fronts, and Venezuelan-Nicaraguan solidarity groups.

The official program included cultural events, folk music performances, and recitations of revolutionary poetry.
