On December 4, 2025, Zaur Gvadzhava, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, participated in an event dedicated to the International Day against Unilateral Coercive Measures at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela.
To mark this date, Venezuelan Executive Vice President Delcy Rodriguez, accompanied by Foreign Minister Iván Gil, held a meeting with the diplomatic corps accredited in the country.
In her speech, the Executive Vice President urged the immediate lifting of coercive measures against 31 countries. She noted that sanctions have a direct impact on economic development and the stability of the population. Venezuela views this date as a moment for global reflection and calls on the international community to undertake joint efforts to defend the rule of law, economic sovereignty, and peace among nations.
Foreign Minister Iván Gil noted that the consequences of these measures have been the subject of active discussion at the UN General Assembly and the UN Human Rights Council, as well as in various multilateral organizations.
The minister also reaffirmed Venezuela's commitment to defending the UN Charter, promoting multilateral cooperation, and upholding an international order based on respect, cooperation, and peace.
The event, held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was attended by representatives of the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry, heads of missions of the diplomatic corps accredited to Venezuela, and the media.
