Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov congratulated Sergey Shamba on his appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia.

I am convinced that your wisdom, foresight, political intuition and devotion to your country will contribute to solving the objectives the diplomacy of the Republic is facing, primarily in the area of ​​developing Russian-Abkhazian bilateral relations, as well as protecting the interests and sovereignty of Sukhum on its external borders."
