Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia Oleg Bartsyts thanked the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov for congratulations on his appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia.

The note says, in particular:

"The Russian Federation is a strategic ally and guarantor of the security of the Republic of Abkhazia. Relations between the Republic of Abkhazia and the Russian Federation are of a special nature and continue to develop steadily, demonstrating the highest level of alliance and mutual support.

I am confident, dear Sergey Viktorovich, that in cooperation with you, Abkhazian-Russian allied relations will continue to develop and cover new areas of interaction.”
