Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia Oleg Bartsyts thanked the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vitaly Ignatiev for congratulations on his appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia.

The note reads, in part:

“The Republic of Abkhazia and the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic are connected by long-standing bonds of brotherhood, mutual respect and solidarity. Abkhazia has a special warm attitude towards the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, with which the modern Republic of Abkhazia signed the first interstate treaty in its history at the height of the Patriotic War of the People of Abkhazia in 1992-1993.

I am convinced that the good traditions of bilateral cooperation will continue to serve as a solid foundation for deepening and intensifying the Abkhazian-Pridnestrovian partnership."
