From June 20 to 21, 2017, the 40th round of the Geneva International Discussions on Security and Stability in the Caucasus took place in Geneva.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation held regular consultations within the framework of the mechanism for foreign policy coordination of the Foreign Ministry of Abkhazia and the Russian Foreign Ministry.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia Oleg Arshba held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Ossetia to the Republic of Abkhazia Oleg Botsiev. The meeting was also attended by Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia Giorgi Dumava. At the beginning of the meeting, Oleg Arshba introduced the Assistant to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia Giorgi Dumava to the Ambassador. During the conversation, the sides exchanged views on cooperation and strengthening of ties between the two republics. Other issues of mutual interest were also discussed at the meeting.

On May 31, the 46th IPRM meeting took place in Gal.

On May 29 2017, at the session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Tbilisi, the draft declaration "On Supporting Euro-Atlantic Integration of Georgia" was adopted.

Foreign Minister Daur Kove and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Russian Federation Igor Akhba took part in the First Congress of the Assembly of Peoples of Eurasia.
