On August 14, a telephone conversation took place between the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia Odissei Bigvava and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Republic of South Ossetia Alan Elbakiyev.

During the conversation, the inviolability of the brotherhood of the peoples of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, who defended their historical right to freedom and independence in the fight against the Georgian aggressor, was emphasized.

Alan Elbakiyev informed Odissei Bigvava about the work of the Embassy of Abkhazia in South Ossetia. The importance of developing and strengthening fraternal Abkhazian-South Ossetian relations was noted.

Alan Elbakiyev said that on August 14, the day the Patriotic War of the People of Abkhazia began in 1992-1993, prayer services were held in the churches of the Nativity of the Holy Mother of God and the Holy Trinity in Tskhinval for the killed soldiers and civilians, which were attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia, Akhsar Dzhioyev.
